Adverse Weather January 2019
The weather is changing again, so just in case, here are a few reminders.
In the event of bad weather every effort will be taken to keep school open and get your children in and home safely.
The Head will be advised by site staff early in the morning if, for any reason, school cannot open to pupils. If necessary, blanket closures will come out from the LA, but this is extremely rare. Although school may be open, there may be transport delays and some local areas may be more badly affected than others. Please make sure you child is suitably dressed for the weather and has a warm coat with them, just in case. Please allow your guide and transport a little flexibility with timings. The safety of pupils remains paramount. The drivers have to make their own judgements with regard to the safety of the roads, so you will be advised if anything changes.
If school is closed a ring round will be initiated and it will be announced on the radio. Staff will endeavour to contact independent travellers directly and guides may ring some parents. Tune in to BRMB (96.4 fm) or Radio WM. Both stations also have websites with closure information, http://www.bbc.co.uk/wm, as does Birmingham City Council: http://disruption.birmingham.gov.uk/
Information will also appear on the school website- in News and Events,
http://priestleysmith.co.uk/news-and-events/news/ ,
also on the school twitter feed and our facebook page.
