Preparing for Adulthood, 21 November 2018

Josh Feehan from Thomas Pocklington Trust talking to Sixth Form at Priestley Smith

Sixth Form at Priestley Smith were very fortunate to have visitors from Thomas Pocklington Trust and RNIB today to share strategies and skills for getting into employment.  Preparing students for work is an integral part of our Preparation for Adulthood provision.

Josh Feehan from Thomas Pocklington,  himself registered severely sight impaired came to tell us all about his personal experience of seeking and obtaining employment.  Jane Manley, apprenticeship co-ordinator from RNIB, brought her apprentice Matt Stubbs in with her, so students could find out about apprenticeships from his perspective.

Jane also brought her lovely guide dog,  Rosie.  Griff was very pleased to have another dog visiting school.
