Primary Science week

Mrs Witcutt, the Primary department’s science coordinator, organised a science week for staff and pupils, which began on the 11th March. She was ably assisted by Lisa Coyle, her classroom assistant and the week got off to a flying start with the arrival of the Mad Scientist, Crazy Kerry. In classrooms Kerry helped the children to make elastic and colourful slime and experimented with making sounds with different musical instruments, some of which started life as something else!

When Kerry left, staff turned their classrooms into laboratories and carried out experiments together throughout the week. Children experimented with liquids, solids, rocks, forces and electricity so that  they were all scientists themselves by the end of the week.

Finally, we joined forces on Friday for a morning at the Think Tank where the juniors explored the new outdoor science garden and the younger children visited the many activities inside the building.
